  1. Well said, “the ultimate Christmas present”. Surely Christ gave the biggest and best gift of all. But, now go shop ’til it hurts and give to others. After all, it is more blessed to give than receive. Merry Christmas!

  2. Jim,

I just love the way you “think out loud” here on your blog. You wrote, “I’m a middle-aged man who feels he has yet to make a mark on the world. Nothing I’ve done seems very significant. No magazine has written an article about me, there are no ministries founded in my name”, and to this I can totally relate. Thanks for putting God’s grace into perspective for me and for stopping by my blog. I needed to read your post, especially today in light of my lying episode. Praise God that he loves me in spite of myself. I am adding your link to my blogroll and look forward to reading your thoughts.

    Your Sister In Christ,

  3. Jim,
This was a great post/article on grace. I think though we all make a mark on the world – good and/or bad – no matter who we are or what we do. Just because it doesn’t make it to the papers, video, television or any other media really doesn’t mean a whole lot.
What really counts is what God says about us when we see Jesus face to face.
Thanks for coming by Fire and Hammer.
    T.A.

  4. Jim,

the story of my life! i can concure with pretty much everything you said. especially the middle aged man who evaluates his lack of accomplishments.

there is a natural tendency to conflict between grace and works within our minds. understading how much god really is for us and not measuring us through the lens of our superficial minds then we can do our work with a sense of freedom to be the best blessing we can be to others.

    thanks for this~
