  1. You said:

Why is it so difficult to rejoice with those who rejoice without feeling a competition for the love and attention of the Father? Why is it so hard for me to ask God to bless others without wondering (not always, but sometimes) when I’ll my piece of the blessing pie? Without malice, rancor or competitiveness, Eliezer is truly happy when God has shown favor to Abraham.

I understand exactly what you’re saying. We can be so self-consuming. But you know, I’ve noticed the more others-oriented I am the less problems I have of my own. I have to smile that reaching out to others has two arms: one reaches to them and the other reaches to me.

    God is surely love.

    Blessings to you,
    Mary

  2. ahhh yes! The Holy Spirit slap.
I tend to get mine in the reverse situation. Like when I see someone I’ve not been around for awhile – they’ve put on a little weight & that makes MY weight more comfortable. Or they’ve lost weight and I begrudge their success in the light of my status quo. SLAP!

Thank God He does not leave us the same, and that His mercies are new every morning.

    brave post – thank you.

  3. The Holy Spirit Slap. It almost sounds like a dance. I run around being silly and He slaps me back into place….

    Glad you liked it.

    Blessings,

    Jim
